Sunday January 15 is my 76th birthday. I answer some of your questions.
by Terry inhappy birthday 2 me!!.
sunday is my 76th birthday and i know that you want to know how it "feels" to have outlived my usefulness, to have lost my natural beauty (being reduced to wrinkles and flab), and constantly walking into a room not knowing why i'm there.
you also are curious as to how i can continue to find a reason to live since none of my kids think my opinions have any possible value, most of my facebooks friends i wouldn't recognize if i tripped over them on my way into starbucks, and my monthly expenditure on bird treats exceeds u.s. spending on the military.

Weight Loss and Insulin Control
by cofty inask most fitness coaches, nutritionists or health professionals and they will tell you that weight control is about calories in versus calories out (cico).
after all, you canât ignore the laws of thermodynamics!.
the flaw in this simplistic reasoning ought to be obvious; a human body and a steam engine are two different things.. our bodies have evolved complex systems of control and feedback loops in order to maintain a steady interior environment, also known as homeostasis.

Yes!!! This worked for me.I lost 50 lbs and have kept it off for 4 years. I feel so much better - I did Keto - but had vegetables and berries every day. As long as I stay away from bread and sugar I do not have cravings and can maintain my weight even after menopause. Iâve learned to make keto versions of my favorite foods and enjoy experimenting with almond and coconut flour recipes.

why celebrate xmas?
by enoughisenough inmany on here are ex jw....they have left the jws because of coming to find out the many false indoctrinations.
one of the things learned as a jw is that there isn't anything true about xmas being the birth of jesus.
( matt chapter 2 tells a whole different narrative about the baby jesus than what is portrayed by the christian churches) they learn the ways that are celebrated are pagan practices jesus told the samaritan woman that god wanted to be worshipped in spirit and it truth.

I donât celebrate Christmas as Christâs birthday. I celebrate secularly because itâs fun to see my nieces/nephews children enjoy all of the fun of the season. I love to see their eyes light up when you are able to get them something they are dreaming of.
I love them all so much - I donât care what they celebrate. If itâs important to them itâs important to me. If they said they are celebrating Christmas,Hanukkah or The Flying Spaghetti Monster - My answer would be when/where/ and how do we throw this party. For me it doesnât have to be some big theological debate - itâs fun so I do it.

Struggling to find a purpose
by My Name is of No Consequence ini spent most of my life in the org.
we were taught that our purpose in life was to serve jehovah.
that never really made sense to me, but it was still a purpose to keep going.

When I first left I tried a little bit of everything. I volunteered at an animal shelter - I found purpose in caring for the animals. I still do work with my local shelters. I tried sports leagues - softball, volleyball, bowling. It got me out and I met many nice people that way. I went to college and love my job.
Eventually I settled in, this life might be all there is - so I try to enjoy every bit that I can. Youâll find your way - in the meantime enjoy the ride.

Poor metabolic health increases your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
by was a new boy initâs all a big fat lie.
more precisely a big low-fat, high-carbohydrate lie.. 'it took dr. paul marik 12 weeks to prove that conventional wisdom about dieting is a lie, and that was just to himself.
he lost 35 pounds, and cured himself of type 2 diabetes.

I started keto a few years back. I lost a bunch of weight and feel great. I avoid sugars and flour based items most of the time and find it easy to keep the weight off.
All of my blood work looks good - so itâs something that works for me as I am aging. Iâve learned to cook/bake with almond and coconut flour so that I donât get bored.

In the US once you earn $147,000 (2022) the government stops collecting social security from your wages. So at whatever point in the year my earnings hit that number I donât contribute another dime to social security until the following January. I donât know why that surprised me when I finally got to that level of earnings but âŚ.. it did.

Fatness or Fitness?
by Terry ini don't know about you but as i get older (and older than older) my weight does not remain the same.when i was in my teens i wanted to be a (don't laugh) bodybuilder!i was too naive and over-eager to do it right.
i ate almost nothing.
i was six-four and weighed 160 lbs.yeah: scary.i lifted weights three times a day.yeah, knucklehead.. my firstborn daughter, on the other hand, will turn 52 in august and she has just started a youtube channel on fitnesshttps://www.youtube.com/channel/ucwusgjsr925o4u5sfbkczmg.

I stopped eating sugars and carbs (processed foods) on an everyday basis. It made a huge difference for me. I still have treats occasionally and on vacation. I can easily maintain my weight by doing that.
I exercise every day by walking the dog 2-3 times a day. I use sunscreen every day. Drink lots of water. Iâm trying red light therapy on some old injuries and seeing improvement in pain and stiffness.

Some Jw's are the worst employees
by Foolednomore ini found a company and employed an elder as an underwriter and two ms as sales and marketing.
anyway, this elder will delegate his work to the ms in sales and marketing, so he can go home early.
he knew when he got started that this would be a 10 hour a day job with some saturday.

10 hour days are normal for salaried people where I work. We are paid really well and get tons of perks - but we work for them.
I love my job too.

Some of the most evil, lying, SOBâs Iâve ever been unfortunate enough to come in contact with.
The lying is probably the worst. And the way they lie to cover for each other. As a female executive I would rather deal with oil field men than a bunch of ego inflated LDS males.
I worked once for a company with an LDS General Manager and the lies he told were outrageous and he tried to hire all his church buddies even though they were clearly unqualified for the positions. There were a few âBishopsâ who demanded to be treated like they were Bishops at work. They all got fired after they tried to downsize everyone that wasnât LDS.
Once you get to see the real people it gives you a different perspective vs the church people persona they want you to see. Oh the stories I could tell from first hand experiences with Mormons.
